Tottenham v Norwich Preview

This afternoon marks the beginning of the run of games which we could, and should pick up maximum points from. Today we host Norwich City, who have had an excellent first season back in the Premier League under Paul Lambert. Our visitors currently sit in a comfortable twelfth, twelve points above danger. Some may say that this would result in Norwich not really having anything to play for and be there for the taking, but it rarely works out that way.

On the team news front, we are likely to see a number of changes from both sides. From a Tottenham point of view, I can see Livermore, King, Kranjcar and Lennon all coming in. Gareth Bale is a major doubt after picking up an ankle knock as a consequence of a strong challenge from Gardner in the latter stages of Saturday's game, and he may well be left out to ensure he is at optimum fitness for next weekend's FA Cup Semi-Final.

When we played at Carrow Road over Christmas, we were treated to arguably the best performance of our season. Gareth Bale struck twice as we showed our hosts how to play football. That game ended 2-0, but it could have been much more.

Norwich go into this afternoon's game 18th in the Form table; having picked up just five points from the past six matches, although they did well to come from behind twice at the weekend to draw two each with an in-form Everton.

Norwich's danger man has to be Grant Holt. An old fashioned centre forward who is on 13 goals for the Canaries this season. Interestingly, he is the top English goal scorer apart from Rooney, and has an outside chance of a place in Eastern Europe this summer - although I would be shocked to see him there.

Tottenham are a far superior side to Norwich, and we should have the ability to pick up 3 points without playing to our full capability. We have a good run in, and we need to make it count, starting today.
Prediction: Tottenham 4 Norwich 1
