Friday 15th July

Welcome, our painstakingly long wait for Tottenham to be playing football again is nearly over, with the squad set to take on the Kaiser Chiefs in South Africa tommorrow afternoon.

TODAY'S ITK

ryantegan: 'My boss spoke to Harry today. In a bullish mood regarding the court case, just wants to clear his name and move on. Really excited for pre-season to get in full swing. Knows Modders won't be sold and thinks that when the games get going Modric will be his brilliant little self. Harry is giving anyone who wants it a clean slate pre season. He has explained that we have a really strong side that will be improved but if someone wants to impress, the door is open. He'd love for Kranjcar in particular to stay. Really diffucult now to get Parker in. Not impossible because money talks but it seems West Ham would do anything to avoid him joining us.

Interestingly, Harry believes that Levy really will deliver. He is determined to make a statement. People at the club are working stupid hours trying to bring in some exciting players. We will have a new striker by the start of the season for sure.

Watch some of the kids pre season as well. They are playing for a chance to emulate Caulker and Walker and join top sides on loan. Keep the faith. Yid army' - Interesting post, it's good to see that Harry is looking forward to the season. I do believe a striker will sign, but in true Tottenham fashion, my money's on a deadline day deal.

Roger Morgan - RE: Arturo Vidal - 'A Chilean at Bayer Leverkusen. We've enquired, he'll be about 15m and they are desperate not to sell him to Bayern Munich. Can't say how serious our interest is because I don't know. We'll see.' - Vidal is a player with great potential, but with Sandro and Huddlestone both good defensive midfielders already at the club, it's an uneccessary signing.

The Goat! - RE: Robbie Keane - 'Robbie wants London. QPR were touted earlier but real issues over what they have to spend. Jol to Fulham changed his focus to there, but does Jol want Robbie or JD?

Wages are an issue and Robbie does have a bit of an ego about being the main man on the field and in the dressing room. He may still yet take what he can get in terms of 1st team football which brings Bolton/Wolves (MMc really really wants him there to join Doyle - but Doyle may yet be moving on...Arsenal?) into the picture, but he is going to have to accept a wage cut (obviously) to get any move, let alone the one he wants.' - Robbie has been a great servant to this club, but we need to get him off our books. Even if the fee is small, the wages saved will save us loads.

Peanut - RE: Rossi - 'Rossi is/was realistic and DL is/was willing to do it. You can't win every transfer though.' - Rossi is a great player, but would not really fit well into our current system, and it looks very likely that he will be off to Juventus anyway.

Pablo - RE: Keane - 'Blackburn and West Brom most advanced. He can hold out for London but Jol told us he can't afford wages. These two have already had extensive talks and one will happen I feel.'

TODAY'S TWEETS
